Ingredients
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 4 hard-boiled eggs
- 1 slice white bread or buns
- 1 red onion (small and chopped)
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Bouillon (chicken flavor)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- ⅔ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 tbsp marjoram
- 2 tbsp paprika powder
Directions
Step 1: The first step is to boil the eggs. Get a saucepan and fill it with water, then add the eggs. Turn up the heat until boiling, then let them sit for 10 minutes after removing them from the heat. Rinse them off with cold water so that you can peel the shells more easily. Set them aside for now.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl, mix the ground beef and pork gently with your hands. Add salt, minced garlic, onion, paprika powder, bouillon and black pepper. Let the mixture sit.
Step 3: Add water to the bread and let it soak in a different bowl. Then, press the water out of the bread. Add this processed bread to the meat mixture along with a beaten egg. Mix well together.
Step 4: Add marjoram and nutmeg to taste.
Step 5: Now, spread oil over a medium-sized baking sheet lined with baking paper.
Step 6: Divide the meat into two parts in a ⅔ to ⅓ ratio and knead a loop from each part. Make a ditch with the backside of a spoon in the larger piece of meat. Once you have done that, you can then begin placing the boiled eggs one after the other into the ditch. Cover with the smaller part of the meat.
Step 7: Smoothly brush the top of each meatball with oil. Then coat in breadcrumbs.
Step 8: Bake in your preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-40 minutes until to get a crispy coating on top of the meatloaf.
Step 9: Remove the meatloaf from the oven. Let it sit for a few minutes, and then slice.
Serve with mashed potatoes or your favorite pasta dish. Enjoy!
