Ingredients
- Baking soda – 3g
- Baking powder – 2g
- Vanilla extract – 2 tsp
- Unsalted butter – 170g
- Chocolate chips – 2 cups
- All purpose flour – 250g
- Salt – 3g
- Brown sugar – 200g
- White sugar – 100g
- 1 egg and 1 extra yolk
Equipment
- Oven
- Mixing Bowls
- Spoon
- Baking Tray or Cookie Sheet
- Parchment Paper or Baking Paper.
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 329 degrees F (165 degrees C) at first. To start, line a baking tray with some baking paper. You can also use parchment paper instead.
- Put the flour and baking soda in a large mixing bowl and blend them. Don’t forget to mix the salt.
- In another bowl, take the cold butter. Mix in both white and brown granulated sugar. Add sugar little by little and keep stirring until the sugar is completely mixed in. It will form a stiff paste.
- Now, add the eggs and vanilla extract to the stiff paste and stir them.
- Add the flour mixture gradually to your paste while constantly stirring until everything is well combined and throw and fold in the chocolate chips with a spoon.
- At this point, add the baking powder to the paste and continue to stir until fully combined. Once the paste has transformed into a dough, refrigerate it for one hour.
- When the dough is ready, use a large spoon to drop dough onto the baking sheet, making sure each pile is circular to ensure a round cookie. Make sure to leave some space in between them so they can expand while baking.
- Bake the cookies until the edges are golden brown. Baking time should be around 18-20 minutes.
- When the cookies have fully baked, remove them from the oven. Set them aside to cool for about five minutes before serving.
- Now, enjoy the delicious homemade McDonald’s chocolate chip cookies!
Tips
- You can use a different type of chocolate chip than what is typically called for in the recipe. I prefer to use dark chocolate chips because they have a richer flavor.
- You can add an extra egg to the recipe. This makes the cookies more moist and gives them a slightly cake-like texture.
- You can bake the cookies for a few minutes longer than the recipe suggests. This results in a cookie that is crispy on the outside but still soft and chewy on the inside. I love to do that. Crispy cookies make the taste pleasant.
