Notes
- If you want to marinate the shrimp ahead of time, do so for no more than 2 hours. The acid in the lemon will cook the shrimp after that point.
- Whether or not to leave the tail on is entirely up to you. Aesthetically, having the tail makes it look nicer, but some people prefer eating them because they’re crunchy. If you’re serving them to others, be sure to ask beforehand!
- Remember that the shrimp should not be overcooked. Otherwise, the nutritional quality of the food will not be maintained. If you’re looking for a healthier option, you could try oven-baking or grilling your shrimp instead of frying them. When I make the dish, I usually keep the dish healthier, not too cooked, or not undercooked.
- Try to use fresh shrimp. But frozen shrimp are also fine because they are usually frozen soon after it’s caught to preserve its freshness.
